End of The World on Wednesday ?
As it’s Friday I thought I would leave all talk of credit crunch and mortgages aside for a while, or maybe permanently as according to some it all won’t matter very much after Wednesday !
This has been my favourite story for a while now about those scientific bods who have built a massive particle accelerator underground in Switzerland that is 17 miles long.
The point is to re-create conditions similar to the Big Bang so scientists can “unlock the secrets of how the universe began”.
There is one massive issue though. Apparently there is an 80 million to 1 chance that this could create a black hole that could swallow up the earth and surrounding solar system. There is less chance of winning the Euro jackpot tonight !
I believe this is going to be switched on on Wednesday despite several legal challenges to stop it. Brilliant.
Never have the words “what could possibly go wrong” been more apt.
